Amen to that moonwind - everytime I look at my husband or daughter I am grateful to be here - I do still cry from time to time and I do so hate being dirty up to the elbows all the time but we are here, with the ones we love, our community will return and people we smile and enjoy the coast again. I only wish people could see this place, you know the before and after - I posted a link for the before and after and it got very few comments - We had a wonderful place here and we will have it again. Hand in there, I sure wish we could meet.

One day we will have to meet! We are too close not to, though right now Harrison and Hancock Counties seem as far away from Jackson County as Ohio. <grin> And I saw your post on the before and after link (thank goodness for wlox!!) and even posted about the possibility of a ferry being used to connect the two halves of the Gulf Coast so we won't be stuck with just I-10. And speaking of pictures, can you get ahold of the Mississippi Press (or go to gulflive.com) where you are? The Press is offering a book for sale, a pictorial of Hurricane Katrina. The hubby and I have ordered a copy. I'm hoping it will be as good as some that came out after Camille.
The hubby and I also want to show what a wonderful place we had here on the Gulf Coast, and also share the stories of those who survived Katrina. That is why we are in the pre-planning stages of doing a documentary about the storm and Mississippi called "Katrina: From the Inside Looking Out". We are going to want peoples stories - those who stayed and what they saw, those who left and what they came back to, and all those who are recovering and rebuilding. We are going to want the stories of volunteers, too. So, we would love to talk to you about your experiences if you would be willing. If you would like, please email me at moonwind333@hotmail.com
