I will go out on a limb here ellen, and say you have just responded to the wrong poster. 

I have not seen JP as posing as the Sanford police.  People get a tad upset if the post seems to portray even a snippet of a post (aka as sound bite) as saying more than was intended.

I do get what you meant though.
