Thank You! I have the same thoughts here...if the kind hearted people of this country were to donate that money to the needy people in their own communities we wouldn't have the situation that has come from LA. Those people who are need of the greatest assistance are the same people who were receiving assistance before Katrina. The sad fact is that hundreds of communities across this nation are in the same condition. I was taught from childhood that charity starts at home. We need to stop with the handouts and help people help themselves! The assistance should be geared at giving support for them earning their own way.
