In answer to a few of your "responses". My sister and her husband and hundreds of others tried to get out of Cancun before the hurricane hit. The planes were all booked and there was no way for them to get out. They also have checked on getting a jumper flight to Mexico City.... They have to stand in line to do this, along with the forty thousand other people, waiting to see IF they can get on a flight, and then when and if they can, American Airlines will NOT honor their return ticket from Cancun, they will have to buy another ticket to return home. They were up at 3 this morning to go stand in line and I am waiting to hear from them. They have been told that they can not stay in the hotel they are in any longer than Saturday at noon. If they can't stay there, and they can't get a flight to Mexico City or home. They are not letting any more people into Meradi due to the fact that there are already more there than they can handle... what are they to do? Yes I do think the Government has a right to get our citizens out of Mexico. Look at what our government did for the people (NOT CITIZENS) of the sunami. I mean for heavens sake, we are in a country fighting and losing our citizens every day due to the government for what????? What would it hurt to send a cruise ship down to pick up a big share of them???? Yes, they can do that. The ports are open. Go read what some of the people stranded there are saying... before you pass judgement. They tried to get out.
