It must be an ill advised to speaker Pelosi to show herself in Syrian parliament but if she is excersing her political rights or as one of the head of US legislative branch, then she should wear shawl as respect to muslims not just Syrian government. Speaker Pelosi should have been advised that women in muslim world has no equal rights with men under the Sarja law, they are just plain housewives, unlike in democratic form of government. She may have been respected by Syrian government but to the eyes of muslim world she is just a normal housewife. She wonders how become the first woman who ever entered into the Syrian parliament. Impact of her visits in Syria may have a different political impression to the arab world in contrast with Bush policy. If she is one of the figure head of US legislative body recognizing Syria then sooner may be recognized by Bush administration. Who knows.
