Hi, you don't paid for a kidney. Medicare paid for the kidney and operation for anyone who need a kidney. However, there are cases where the Hospital paid the living donor up to about $30,000.00, if it match, and the person with the new kidney sometime paid for travel expense, food and lodge. It all depend on the Doctor or Hospital. I am still on the waiting list, but I am thinking about becoming a member of the Matchingdonor.com.
