I wonder why blood sugar goes up when we sleep. I take my glucose level before bed and more than 2 hours after eating (usually several hours) and it reads something like 130. When I wake up in the morning it reads 160. This is the highest it is all day so why does it matter? Since I don't eat at night usually after 8 pm, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to change this. Exercise at night is not good because it energizes me. I take Glucophage(2 /500mg each) at breakfast and dinner and one actose 45 mg at lunctime. My BP is fine and I exercise usually in the morning. I don't know why the blood sugar is supposed to be lower in the morning when it never is.

I had the same problem. I was given the test for Type 1 diabetes and it came back positive.

No, I have Type 2 but wondered why it matters if it is at its highest in the morning when it is actually lower the rest opf the time.
