Oh my goodness!!!  Richard Cantu just said "TWO THOUSAND ELEVEN"!!!  :-D  :-D  :-D

...heh heh, just kidding.  NO reporter at ABC has said "two thousand anything", to my knowledge.  I'd love to know why.

Our local radio station carries ABC news, and "America's Radio News Network" powered by Washington Times.  ARNN's website declares "Making Breaking and Driving the News".  Listen, people, you're only supposed to REPORT the news --- not  "make it", not "drive it", not "shape it", not "control it".  America has always run on the principle that we can govern OURSELVES, if we're just well informed.  But we cannot be informed with Soviet-style-policies like "manipulating the masses" through news control.

This is the complaint about "Twenty-Eleven"; we don't want to be controlled, we don't want to be changed.  Just report the news.  HONESTLY.  And if the majority of people say "Two Thousand Eleven", would it really hurt you reporters to say "Two Thousand Eleven"?  Or "Two Thousand Twelve"?  It's the underlying attitude that is the complaint.

"Twenty-Oh-Three" --- when in Two Thousand Three nobody on the planet said "Twenty-Oh-Three", is extremely arrogant and offensive.

Serve the people.  That is your business.  Am I telling you your business?  YES!  The customer is the "ultimate boss"!

Omigosh, no joke this time, this is what I actually just heard:

"The problem is in the glue, the glue could fail, making the energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs* fail.  The bulbs were manufactured by Philips between TWO THOUSAND SEVEN and TWO THOUSAND TEN"!

I'm really smiling!  I think it was Doug Limerik.

What are the chances of us ever hearing the most-accepted-pronunciation, again?

GOOD JOB, sir!!!

:-)

* These are the bulbs that are being rammed down our throats, starting next year, another aspect of "social engineering" --- fixing an energy shortage that does not exist, placing all of us (including our children!) in danger of mercury poisoning!  We no longer get to choose what light bulbs we use, what toilets we use, what we eat, where we go, and many other freedoms we used to take for granted.

Thoreau said, "The government that governs best, governs least" --- and we are being governed MORE AND MORE at the expense of liberty.  There is a bill to repeal the 2007 bulb-ban, we should scream at congressmen to support it.
