there were no combat black soldiers at D-Day. Sad but true.

FYI, most blacks were relegated to combat support (supply) units. There were a few anti-aircraft units that served mainly in the Pacific and then there was a tank destroyer unit or two in Europe, one of which was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. It was a hard fought battle by blacks to serve their country, but full integration only came with Truman and service in the Korean war.
