There are so many different products sold over the counter ... it can be very confusing. Even for doctors, it can take a good while staring at the label before we can figure out what is in some of these mixtures. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine. The big picture is that young children should not be using these over the counter cough and cold preparations. I hope FDA moves quickly to counter the marketing behind these products.
