I listened with disbelief to the report on last night's broadcast that women were going increasingly for the Republican ticket, largely on the appeal of Sarah Palin and the impression that nominating Sarah Palin somehow cemented John McCain's image as a "maverick."  Based on the women I know, that poll needs to be taken with a very large grain of salt .  I'm not part of the media elite.  I don't live on either coast - I live in Iowa.  I've worked full time for the last 30 years and raised two sons.  I am in good standing with the church I've attended for 19 years.  And I think Sarah Palin is a complete disaster.

I've had women of widely differing ages share with me their fear that Sarah Palin is in no way qualified to be "one heartbeat away" from the presidency.  Another point that's been made is that her stands on social issues place her well outside the mainstream thinking of the middle-class women I know.  Certainly, based on the issues, no woman who supported Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race could possibly back Sarah Palin.  I firmly believe that once the glow has faded from the initial announcement of her nomination and women take a closer look at what's behind the attractive facade, her support among this group will drop.

Sad to say but we don't have much to choose from.  You would rather someone that does not believe in GOD be in charge of our country?  WOW!!!

You said it well sister!!!! I stand behind your words 110%!!! Oh my God, what are people thinking!! Sarah Palin needs to do the right thing and bow out now and go straight back to Alaska!  It is so very obvious that McCain is using her as a tactic for the female votes. It makes me sick almost as much as having to look and listen to Bush.Listen people of America, if Hillary cant get in with her knowledge, skills and experience, why the hell would anyone want this backwoods, old fashioned Sarah Palin to possibly be our next leader? Face it McCain is old with one foot in the grave and if he is elected, we are in great trouble!!! If you thought this war in Iraq was long and damaging to our people then what country will McCain have us fighting in next? You can bet the end of the world as we know it will surely end! I suggest people start praying now!!!! If our economic downfall at present doesnt prove to the american people what sheer devastation and ignorance our last republican leader has demonstrated and how desperately we need a younger, more educated, more in touch with "hard working everyday citizens and their needs" doesnt sway your vote then let me pray for you! AMERICA, ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!!!!! WOMEN, ITS OUR TURN TO SPEAK!! and McCain and Palin are a sure ticket to death and destruction to life as we know it!!! Our country CANNOT afford another republican president!! Please vote to make a change!!!!

Sarah Palin has no appeal to me! I have raised 3 children and have been a Soccer Mom, Football Mom, Softball Mom, Basketball Mom etc. That hockey mom stuff does not impress me at all. I am so tired of her evading questions and for once would just like to hear a direct answer. I would respect her more if she would just say, "I don't know" She is in fact a heartbeat away from being President which is a scary thought!

Do you really know who Obama is?  Why hasn't he produced his birth certificate?  The media has given him a pass on that.  He has even less experience than Palin.  Does Obama really care about the middle-class and the poor?  He doesn't even know about his illegal alien aunt living on welfare in Boston. The media is not giving the American people the real information about Obama.  He is getting a free pass on his true background.  Yes, Obama has more people working for him in his campaign because he pays his people to campaign for him,  Charlie Gibson, while McCain's people are true blue volunteers.  They have heart and resolve.  I worked hard this weekend to volunteer my time to campaign for McCain in another state.  Many of us did that for him.  I am sick and tired of the press giving Obama praises and always saying negative things about McCain.  I wonder who Hilary is voting for?  I suspect she will be voting for a man but not your man. Like Senator Clinton said, "SHAME ON YOU BARACK OBAMA!"
