If you're interested in quitting smoking, check out Allen Carr. He provides seminars to quit smoking all over the world - money back guarantee - and his success rate is something like 90%.
I don't work for Allen Carr and never have. I was, however, a heavy smoker for 11 years and am now a nonsmoker for 8 months. I've had maybe 4 or 5 urges to smoke during that time and they passed quickly. Prior to Allen Carr, I had tried the patch and smoking cessation.
I haven't seen any media coverage about Allen Carr and it's a crying shame because it works. It's the only method I know of that makes quitting easy and works. I assume it doesn't get coverage because the pharma companies own the established methods of quitting.
Quitting smoking is a personal choice - an individual choice for every addict, and not a choice to be made by friends and family who think that nagging a smoker is helpful and life saving. Nagging a smoker is not helpful, it makes a smoker feel worse and the way that a smoker copes with anxiety is by smoking more.
But I'm not here to stand ona soapbox. If you're trying to quit, look up Allen Carr.
