For as many years as I could remember, I've said "Hi Peter" when he opened his WNT report. He's been my favorite anchor/reporter for such a long time. I was very sad to hear of his diagnosis. Even sadder, I was in "God's Country", Door County, Wisconsin when Peter passed away. My family and I were vacationing in a cabin that has no T.V., no radio, even my Sprint phone was out of area. After 5 days there, I was home for 24hrs before another trip to Denver, CO. I was at the check-out line at a grocery store in Denver when I saw the people magazine cover with Peter. I stood there and cried. I felt terrible that I had missed this news. I felt like I had missed out on mourning with the rest of the world! HE WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY AMERICA, BY ME.

We are still in mourning. To me it feels as though Peter Jennings could have died yesterday. It's just as sad today for me and for millions of others. No one can top Peter Jennings. He gave so much of himself and it does console me to read and learn how generous and caring he was. These souls are in short supply, so yes, we do mourn Peter Jennings and will for a long time.
