my daughter is only 6 years old and i already can not watch the news with her-she picks up everything. she asked me why peter jennings died and what caused lung cancer. when i told her smoking she asked me if grandma was going to die since she smoked. i told her i didnt know but maybe she should ask my mom. my mother was upset with me because my daughter did ask her and my mom said her eyes staring at her while she smoked outside made my mom feel very guilty. about 2 weeks later my mom had a gallbladder attack and had to have surgery. my daughter was extremely upset thinking my mom had cancer and was going to die like peter jennings. when my daughter again asked my mother if must had been just enough guilt to make my mom stop smoking. she went cold turkey as of sept 12 and she has yet to smoke. my mom says she did for katie.
