Diane Sawyer.
I think it is inappropriate for you to add a negative question when you announce some new piece of news.
An example:
Tonight (11/2/10) you announced a new program that the Treasury Department is starting to help get more money into the hands of small business and in the same breath you said "But will it work?" That adds a negative connotation to the news which is an editorial comment, not news. Leave the editorial comments out and just stick with the news which is what your program is all about. Your job is to inform your listeners as to what is happening and not to convoy your own feelings

Diane shows more and more that she is leaning more towards the Right.  It's her opinion, but her putting words into a question, as pointed out, happens more and more when she mentions Obama and his administration.  I don't remember Charlie or Peter showing their feelings and beliefs as much as Diane shows her beliefs.

(couldn't find link to post independent thought to this topic; had to reply to specific msg. instead)

dandl805 - good observation and point.

I've been a life-long viewer of ABC World News, including of Frank Reynolds and Peter Jennings.  But this newscast has become so biased, in fact with so much blatant liberal agenda, either in what is reported & what is omitted and how the stories themselves try to say how we need to believe, that I simply cannot stand anymore.  And what gives with integrating so much entertainment into the newscast?

So, I'm going to give CBS News with Scott Pelley a try.  Let's see if they can be at all objective in their reporting.  From my point of view, the mainstream media's love affair and engineered promotion of the evil that is Obama is nothing short of immoral. The MSM pushes their "green" initiatives and other liberal/socialistic agendas.  Even ABC World News' "Made in America" is a big joke, lacking in any real analysis or solutions.

I'm looking for a balanced newscast where issues are treated fairly and in a balanced manner, where commentary and bias is avoided as much as possible.  Will ABC News remain a smelly corpse or is there any hope of revival?

I'm all for shopping around for news.   Each has its good points.

Tonight, ABC World News showed NM Governor Martinez urging people not to light fireworks during the burn ban.  Everybody in the South West needed to hear it!   Half of Oklahoma is like kindling and all of Texas was declared a disaster area last week.....

But, the firework warning wasn't on CBS at all.

Today I heard the White House has been demanding MSNBC watch their tone.   Watch their tone when bashing the President that is, its ok when bashing the otherside.   So one of their hosts has been replaced by Al Sharpton.   Thats a whole other topic BUT what the main stream media (Government controlled media) doesnt understand is when Fox is dead and buried by the administration and there is noone left except the puppets of the whitehouse, they too will be destroyed by the administration.   Journalism is dead in America I am afraid.  ABC news is no different.    People are asking Michelle Bachman about headaches yet didnt ask Obama a thing about his association with the Weather Underground participants (who aimed to murder nearly 25 million conservatives once they take the country over) or his far left views about socialism and income redistribution etc.    The media is in the WhiteHouse corner and being controlled while the populus watches and sees the bias clearly.   Time is on our side though.....Obama will be gone in just over a year and then we will see a change in media for sure.

Here's a shock.... I agree with you on one thing: The Obama Administration has been heavy-handed on the press. He honed his technique on FOX at the start. I thought the Administration was rather manipulative when certain reporters where tapped to cover the Obamas' trip to give a wedding present to William and Kate, on the exact same day as Bibi Netanyahu's speech to Congress.

After the inauguration, a certain Christian television network was approaching renewal. The Administration told them that if they heard -the one forbidden topic - (not the birth certificate), the FCC would label it as hate speech and pull their license.

Well, Christian TV isn't like the major networks. It is like a big infomercial because the ministries buy time. So, the owners of that particular network called on the buyers, such as Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn, Grant Jeffrey, et al; and they prohibited the "one forbidden topic." HTG! I heard it with my own ears.

I blame the Administration, and their increasingly Third-World-Dictator-Like tactics, but not the news. I didn't like it when Obama walked out during the budget meeting either. I mean, like, who does he think he is? Paris Hilton???
