Nice propaganda piece on Global Warming and hit job on Dr. Fred Singer tonight (3/23) on WNT.  Of the 3 and a half minutes that the piece aired, I clocked only 56 seconds where Dr. Singer was able to speak in defense of his views or the commentator, Dan Harris, said anything resembling positive comments about Dr. Singer's views.  Whether or not he's right, there is a need for balanced reporting on this subject.  No mention that this has been the coldest winter in years and that snow accumulation records are being broke throughout the country or that several other well regarded scientists doubt that man is responsible for GW or that GW is even occurring.  Instead, we heard 2 and a half minutes, or nearly 3/4's of the story, about how wrong he is or comments mocking him.  I had held out hope that ABC was the last of the big 3 MSM to be balanced, now I'll put you in the same category as CBS and Dan Rather - never watching again.

The whole purpose of the story was a partisan hit job.  They set up this guy, Dr. Singer, under the context of a news story then tried to wax him.

I find it interesting that they attacked him for taking a check from Exxon.  I wonder how many checks Exxon and other big oil companies send to ABC for advertising each year.  Are we to assume ABC is in on big oil corruption.  On top of that ABC News makes a killing through pharmaceutical company advertising.  Shouldn't we consider this a conflict of interests when it comes to reporting on them?

Also it is interesting they gave Kert Davis, a greenpeace activist, a free shot at Dr. Singer by allowing him to unload everything and the kitchen sink at him without any challenge to his claims.  Greenpeace is on the far fringe left that often times finds itself on the other side of the law.  Since when did their word become gold?
