I keep hearing there is proof for the historical jc and all I get are altered accounts like Josephus or hearsay like the gospels or Tacitus.  Does anyone have confirmation jc was real and not just a fabricated guy plagiarized from earlier risen savior god myths like Horus or Mithra?

I think that they proved he was a real guy, but not that he performed miracles or was the son of god.

Based on my research, there was a guy named Yeshu ben Pandera that existed around that time but no evidence of divinity (whatever that means) has ever been found.

Where is the proof that your great great grandfathers father existed?

No one has to prove anything to you.It is about reading the Bible and faith.

Just close your mind to the fact that there is a record of God in history.

I think "they".  Who is "they" because I've read of Tacitus, Seutonius, Flavius and others and no one has provided anything but hearsay and altered documents to show jc was real that I know of.

Well, you can tell us whatever you please. But, you should also be aware that the above really, really doesn't support, or indeed have anything to do with, supporting your position on the matter.

I tell you what; One day, you will know the truth beyond doubt...on that day however, you will have died, and the choices you made in this lifetime will dictate where you will spend eternity. If you lived believing in Jesus and it turns out there was no Jesus (which of course there is) then you would have lived an honorable life and lost nothing. If, however, you live as though there is no Jesus (or judgment) and it turns out there is a Jesus (and judgment) you will pretty much be scr3wed for eternity.

Then again,

what if it turns out that you were partially right. There is a xian god as well as heaven and hell but they´re not the way you think. Let´s say that hell turns out to be just as nice and giddy as hell but due to marketing as well as information monopoly held by "heavenists" the real picture of h-e-l-l is false.

Then we´d be spending our afterlife in two camps, you in heaven (pastel colors) and I in h-e-l-l (vivid colors) - otherwise the same ;)

I suppose it depends on what constitutes historical confirmation of anything; whether one person existed or another performed an action which is ascribed to her, etc.

Cheers,

Dave
