Bob--We're so glad that you are doing so well and glad that your family has you back home safe and sound. The actions that the VA takes are not new as many Veterans know. My husband was sent on a "covert" TDY mission to Turkey in 1980 when he was in the USAF. The USAF does not keep morning records and when he was injured, he was told to keep everything a secret or he would have to go to Leavenworth for the rest of his life. Then during the year 2000, he totally lost it and it has been determined by 12 doctors, including those of the VA that he has PTSD. The thing that has kept him from getting his disability? He cannot prove he was in Turkey b/c it was only 6 days that the team was there before they were attacked and sent to Weisbaden, Germany. We've been trying to get this settled for 7 years and although the Air Force Historical Research Agency says, "that it is more likely than not that __________ (my hubby) is telling the truth, due to the activity that was going on during that time", we have still not gotten anywhere. We definitely understand cover-ups: Jessica Lynch and Pat Tillman are just 2 of the many that have happened over the years.
