And also:

Why I am not a Christian by Bertrand Russell

Anything by any  of the Vienna Circle Philosophers, Rudolf Carnap, Gustav Bergmann, Kurt Godel, Moritz Schlick and many others.

Albert Einstein: He repeatedly denied the existence of a personal god and an immortal soul, although he was Jewish and believed in a "cosmological diety".
See "Einstein and Religion" by Max Jammer (a good friend of Einstein's)

That is my early morning contribution to the literature.

It's not a major historical work, but you have to admire Voltaire's 'Candide' for its humor and courage.

This is about the most lame forum, regarding administration, that I have ever seen.

Mr. lahatte sir,,, please allow me to concur with you on that point. Seems to me, the main objective of the admins of this forum is to bamboozle everyone into some sort of a pin-head mentality. shoot.

Anyway, to all the free thinkers out there,

don't let them change you.

don't let them school you.

don't let them fool you.

don't let them rearrange you.

Interesting, but shouldn't we add

...unless you are growing in doing so.

You are right. We could add that. As a general rule, I think change is good. School is good. My reference however, was strictly about the ABC news message boards. I don't like the way they control opinion. I've had posts deleted that did not contain any abusive language whatsoever. I just don't digg this anal retentive language police thing, that's all.

Yep, it happens. Intersting though, I don't hear too many atheists claiming there is some kind of "right winged" conspiracy a foot. The post deletions happen to everyone!

I still can't figure out the logic behind it though and I agree it's very annoying.

you can say that again. Atheists and other non-believers just don't operate that way. They don't see boogeymen and goblins hiding in every shadow. it just isn't our style.

Religious people on the other hand, like to set up these battle grounds between good and evil, and stage imaginary wars of biblical proportion. Only trouble is that, anyone who doesn't subscribe to jesus is evil, they say. It's a rather funny way of trying to monopolize "good". But that's religion for you. Everyone is vying to be in the "elite" circle.

As far as it's all concerned I'm just one less individual vying for a pass in to the pearly gates!

It's just not for me. I'm more of a "stay at home" type. Just living in it up in the "now" and loving it. It's divine.

But in all fairness there are several (especially the Wiccans that post here) religious folk that don't set up these good and evil battles. So I don't think it's all religious people. But the one's that do give Religion a bad name to the detriment of all.

I agree with all of you writers who complain about these deletions.  There's no place for admins to CENSOR without a good reason.  If that reason exists, make that reason known to us!

For example, what happened to the first post in this Topic/thread ???  Censorship?  Who knows, unless whoever was responsible for deleting it could explain their reasoning.  Makes no sense to delete the very first post without deleting the whole thread.  If there was ONLY one offensive word, then only that word could be replaced with XXX, not the whole post!
