Atheist?

You do not believe there is a GOD because you can not see his existence and possibly other reasons?

Well I was wondering if you happen to believe wind and air exist? Can you see the wind? Can you see the air?

Let me answer, I'm pretty sure you have NOT seen air, nor have you seen wind. I am pretty sure you have seen what air and wind can do, but not once have you seen it. Therefore if you believe air and wind exist give me a reasonable explanation why you for some reason do not believe the LORD exist. You can feel the wind and breath the air, well believers of GOD and Christ feel the HOLY SPIRIT and we feel once we know and LOVE the LORD that he is, the reason we get back on our feet after trials and tribulations.  Because if you do not believe in him because you can not see then I am going to guess you also do not believe air and wind exist as well.

I believe Atheist do not believe there is a GOD because there are no pictures indicating and confirming his existence. The LORD hasn't come to them because they do not want to know him. Or maybe they do not believe as the lady said on the show (If there is a GOD why would he let cancer come upon people)- It is written that we will live through trials and tribulations and if you believe "the LORD will comfort us and bring us back to our feet". GOD did not promise we would not have trials and tribulations. Generation to generation will grow further and further from the LORD and as the people who do not believe you are the best example for turning from the LORD.

Atheist say that GOD does not exist but when life does come to an end they will be the persons who have to repent once it is to late to ask GOD for forgiveness. We are all given a chance to know the LORD and if you chose not to, then that is your choice.

As for the Atheist who said "she would rather go to hell then to Blah Blah Blah and worship the LORD" then hell is exactly were you will be. Another thing, if you believe there is a hell, then you also believe there is a heaven. If you believe there are both, then please tell me where the terminology came from indicating there is a heaven and hell. I am positive it is written in the bible and the bible is written by GOD's appointed. Therefore in side of you, you do believe but because of the un-godly life you chose to live, you rather live life as is there was not a GOD because you do not want to be judged for the wrong that you commit. Your own conscience eats at you because again you know the way that you live your life by choice you do not want to deal with nor face the day judgement day comes.

"Wouldn't it better to live life believing there is a GOD, then to live life believing there is not and then come to find out there is?"

We are all giving choices and the two main choices in life begin with One to believe or Two not to believe. The believers should pray for the people who do not believe. It is there ignorance that they will have to answer to when the time comes.

GOD BLESS THE BELIEVERS

and again pray for those who do not believe

Actually we can see air.  There are many ways.  Here is an article about some:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,883925,00.html

We can also see Air molecules with a powerful enough microscope.

So there it is.  We can see air.  Now show me god ;-)

Actually when I go to Houston I do see the air but it's called smog.  Houstonians aren't to convinced pollution is a problem.  We can test air and everytime we move it with something we create wind.  Can't do that with god.

You have proven that you, not only, do NOT understand the points of atheists, but are incapable of understanding.

My suggestion to you is to not post again for 6 months. Use this time to follow the discussions here and actually LEARN SOMETHING.

At the end of 6 months, if you have actually been able to understand what has been said, you will no longer be a believer.

When I placed my comment about Atheist, it was directed to the ignorance of the people that were on television explaining the beliefs of Atheist. I posted what they spoke upon. Furthermore, I have no desire to know, nor here or learn about what Atheist believe. As you believe there is no GOD, I believe that it is of those who do not believes ignorance to ignore the fact the GOD does exist. And when the day does come, you may end up wishing you lived your life believing.  Again, every person has the choice to believe or not believe. And whether you believe or do not, you are blessed everyday that you can open your eyes, hear, speak and live life as choosen due to the fact that the LORD our GOD has blessed you with. GOD bless you and your loved ones. And may the LORD open your heart and eyes to his existance.

Wind and air are testable and verifiable

Have you tested the LORD as in believing in him? Have you followed GOD, LOVED him, TRUSTED him and gave your heart to him? Have you ever made GOD your one, most high? Have you tested his beliefs and ways? Well the people who do belive that the LORD our GOD does exist verify the LORDS existence. Which would make GOD verifiable. SO when you do decide to give GOD your all, then you can go ahead and answer your own question. The existence of GOD is from faith and within. Once you give him your all, he will give you his. GOD BLESS you and your loved ones, may the LORD open your eyes, body, heart and soul to the LORD. SO you may know him and follow him before the ending days begin. Again GOD bless you and your loved ones.

Thanks for this divine threat from an "all loving" god. I'm sure there are those that haven't heard that one before.

My dear brother/sister, you will see and know GOD when you are ready to belive, from within. You will see all that the LORD gives to you. YOU have to want it from within. When you feel the need to give the LORD your all, he will give his self to you. I can not give you GOD because it is your choice to receive him. AMEN I say to you. GOD bless you and your loved ones. May the LORD open your heart so you may get to know, love and serve him.

<<And may the LORD open your heart and eyes to his existance.>>

Well, "He" won't, and since you believe that this god is real, what does that say about it?  Nothing good, that's for certain.

Again, the LORD may be tested in many ways. He will also test the human race. And for those who do not believe have fallen in the category that the LORD has warned us about. Again until you become a believer you will and can not ever know how the LORD works. You first have to except him into your heart, and mind. Until then there is nothing I can tell you that can change your mind. And if you ever do decide to give the LORD a try, and I will pray that you do, you will know what the believers were talking about. May you except the LORD as your savior, to know, love, honor and follow the LORD so you are excepted into his Heavenly Kingdom. GOD BLESS you and your loved ones.

Orona8, I can tell you are a noble person, putting time and effort into that warning to save atheists from what may be their deserved punishment. It may be disagreeable to atheists, but they should not deny your intentions.  I am not quite an atheist.  I believe that the gods exist as ideas.  I believe that because ideologies have power as ideas, and the gods are very useful mechanisms for ideologies to remain alive.  I explain the gods through the natural selection of ideas.

"Wouldn't it better to live life believing there is a GOD, then to live life believing there is not and then come to find out there is?"

That is a good question, and the answer is it depends on what sort of god you are talking about.  GOD may have much more tolerance for people who believe what is reasonable than to believe out of fear.  The religions that threaten people with doomed afterlives could be a test from the gods to sort the those with cowardly motives from those with courageous and truth-loving motives.

But I actually think the doomed afterlives are a good illustration of the natural selection of the gods.  The two most popular religions in the world are Christianity and Islam.  They have what I call the dual-ultimate afterlife doctrine, where adherents are promised ultimate reward, and non-adherents are threatened with ultimate punishment.  Hinduism has a lesser reward-and-punishment system.  According to Hindus, Christians and Muslims who eat cows will die and come back as beetles.  The reward and punishment system helps adherence.  It motivates evangelism, motivates unskeptical people to join up to avoid the punishment, and it keeps the faith alive among the faithful.  It is no accident that the two most popular religions have that system.  The Prophet Muhammad saw the success of Christianity, took a lesson from Jesus Christ, and put the duel-ultimate afterlife doctrine in his own religion, making it the world's second favorite.

I don't expect that you will agree with me.  These are my opinions, and it is difficult to state them inoffensively.  I am sorry about that.

"Wouldn't it better to live life believing there is a GOD, then to live life believing there is not and then come to find out there is?"

The problems with Pascal's Wager are many, but the simplest of these is that as it is framed, it applies to all gods, in fact all supernatural beings. In order tol hold the Wager to the test, you must also ask yourself whether it wouldn't be better to believe in Shiva just in case, or believe in Thor just in case, or believe in Zeus just in case, or in the Elyssian fields just in case, or in Vahalla just in case, or in vodoo just in case...

The fact is, Pascal's Wager actually makes the argument that it is better to believe in every supernatural being or religion because you wouldn't want to die and be wrong. That means it's not much of an argument in favor of religion at all, because it can't be practically applied to one religion at the exclusion of others, and guarantees that a majority of people on Earth will be wrong in their beliefs. The only way to take Pascal's Wager to its conclusion is if you personally believe in every god, every religion, every supernatural being... just in case one of them exists.

You sound like a very intelligent person and I respect your opinion because everyone is entitled to there own beliefs. It is rare in todays society that people respect others beliefs. I believe there in one GOD, and through the Holy Spirt there is Jesus. Again thank you for expressing your opinion in a respectful manner. Many do not know what respecting others beliefs and feelings really mean. Thank you again!
