I was impressed by both houses of the US Legislative branch for finally calling our President's bluff. I think that we trust our elected leaders, to a point, to be in a position to have more information than the average Joe. I firmly believed in the invasion of Afganistan to unseat Al Qaida and their puppet government, the Taliban.
I gave the CIC the benefit of the doubt when he said that Iraq was a clear and present danger. However, it became quickly apparent that I was duped and now I know that I am not alone in feeling that way. That trust quickly evaporated as I watched rioting in the streets, the royal CF known as the transitional authority, and the eventual determination that Mr. Hussein was mostly bluffing about his offensive capacity.
Thank you Congress for standing up and speaking out about the lack of planning, accurate information, effective organization, and leadership surrounding our current involvement in Iraq. Our troops are doing their best with a bad situation and I know where the buck stops. Thank you Congress for reminding GW that it stops with him.
