I have asked WNT to please remove my last post. It was made in haste. You see, I was part of the Jennings Effect quitters story. And I have proudly Stayed Quit. However, since I quit, I have been experiencing chest pains. Thinking this was my lungs, my Dr. did an x-ray. And it showed clean. And again, life was good. However, as a follow up, he also scheduled me for a Nuclear Medicine study of my heart. I rescheduled the first one, thinking it was a waste of time. I went today. I just got home and found out I have Coronary Artery Disease affecting the front of my heart. So now it's back into a hospital, more then likely over the holidays.. People, I am only 44, and I want to live! More then likely this is partially attributed to smoking! So see. It's not only lung cancer. Good Luck all, Nancie San Francisco

Dear Nancie: I am so terribly sorry to hear of your health problems. I also thank you for this latest post about the heart problem. Amazingly, most people do not know that lung cancer is not the leading problem attributable to smoking. IT IS HEART DISEASE! Many more people will develop heart disease as a result of smoking that lung cancer. So, you have done everyone a great service with your latest post. Again, I am so sorry, Nancie. You are very young, and I am wishing you the very best. Being an ex-smoker is certainly a step in the right direction and very much improves your odds of beating this new health problem. Best wishes, SabineTawni

Sabine, I would like to "paste" your note to Nancie on the forum entitled "What about the health of people who breathe in ur bad habit". It is so poignant. OK?

Absolutely! More people need to know that lung cancer not the only danger from smoking (or even the primary one). Best of Luck. SabineTawni

Nancie I hope you come through this all good! I read your other story before you removed it. I appreciate where you are coming from. My wife recently died from COPD. We both smoked for over 40 years. My prayers are with you Don
