When you were fired "last time" I wrote:

Imus,
Boy did you screw up.....again....but I forgive you.  I haven't heard your ranting and raving for some years now, but you are a part of my fondest memories of New York.  I still remember and have repeated (to my self-immolating shame) a joke about a ####-out hippie being able to successfully perform a bird call ("Hey bird, come here!").  You're right, of course, I might just be as sick as you are.

Ok.  Enough nice.  Are you friggin' ####?  Really.  You've interviewed, made fun of and lambasted the most powerful, the richest, the most famous people in the world.  You've raised money for kids and turned your ranch into an oasis for kids with cancer.  You've raised millions of dollars for veterans.  You were my personal hero until recently.....I found out you are a vegetarian!

I just can't believe it.  Say it isn't so!
I'm sorry you got fired, but geez, a vegetarian.  What a blow!

Your friend and long time fan,
Dennis "Doc" Knowles

PS  About that Rutgers thing.  You really should reconsider your comments.  Those are some pretty talented girls.  They probably have way better table manners than you do and besides, I bet most of them are not vegans.  And, by the way, if you really are a racist, take that gun you carry around and shoot yourself in the head.  Otherwise,  good luck with the New York Unemployment Office.  Those lines are really long!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now that the same fools who fired you in the first place are going to re-hire you I say,

I guess those New York unemployment lines were just toooooo damned long eh?  It'll be good to have you back on the air.  This time though, just make fun of the president.  He's stupid enough for all of us and you'll never run out of material.  Leave the girls at Rutgers alone.  However, you could take a few shots at Sharpton....what a marooon!

Still your friend and long time fan,

Dennis "Doc" Knowles

Thank God and Greyhound----he's coming back!  It hasn't been the same trying to get ready for work listening to the Happy People on GMA or the Early Show on CBS or "god forbid", the Today Show.  I think people who don't like the way Imus is/what he says/the way he acts--- should just change the channel....isn't that what we've been told forever? He is by far the best interviewer around, no matter who he's talking to.....he asks the questions most of us just think about.  He has a variety of folks on the show so there is something for nearly anyone over 30, and up until the show left the air, we all enjoyed various entertainers we normally didn't get to see and hear.  Remember all the good he's done, not only for the veteran's of the country, but the autistic children, children with cancer, The SIDS foundation, and on and on. He apologized and they accepted the apology----to hell with Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson---they don't mean diddly.  We've all been made fun of for something or the other, but most of us have learned to take it and go on, being stronger for having let it go and live our lives.  No one ever said life was a bed of roses.....remember roses have thorns and you have to remember they are there.  I've missed my daily dose of Imus and Charles and Bernie and Lou and Chris, etc. Like so many others, I too have boycotted MSNBC and the sponsors that dropped the ball on someone that made them a lot of money-----even though they said they'd lose money because some people didn't like what Imus said, there are a LOT of us out here that have NOT bought your products BECAUSE YOU DROPPED IMUS.  I can't wait till he returns and gets us all caught up in the race for the White House and everything else that's going on in the world.  The people that love Imus are the people who are just like him, only we don't get paid nearly as much, nor are we as talented, but we think the same way and WISH we could talk the same way.  He is true to his convictions!!  Hurry back Imus~~~we're ready!!

Imus is "the Man," but even Imus has to practice just a little sensitivity.  He was wrong.  We've all been wrong in our lives.  He said as much.  I'll be listening whenever I get the chance.  Imus is fun, interesting and thought provoking.

Yes, he's all those things, and I think more sensitive since he married, has a son, and gotten older----much like most of the rest of us.  But he's still Imus and that's why we love him and want him back on the air...asap.  What a good way to begin the year!!

Real Vegans don't wear Texas-sized belt buckles.

In reality, Don's problem is that he appears to have used a quote originating from someone else and it didn't become an issue until the celebrity publicity ("Black"mail) made the Rutgers gals aware of its personal nature.

Lesson #1 - Don, don't quote anyone; you are original enough.

Lesson #2 - The Rutgers gals were classy enough to be offended and appeared to "move on" quickly.

Lesson #3 - "Black"mail has become redefined in our minds by the celebrity news media; but it is still about money and how to exploit a negative situation.
