You've still got George's name on the website as the host - OH HOW I WISH THAT WERE STILL TRUE!  Christiane is getting worse week by week in her ability to keep the show moving and interesting.  The only reason I have watched is to hear George Will, whom I deeply respect.  Her other choices of guests continues to go downhill and I'm sorry to say I'll go to NBC to watch Meet The Press from now on.  By the way, your new website homepage makes it ever so hard to find a place to comment on the shows - could it be that you received so many negatives on Christiane that you wanted to make it harder to comment? I tried, I really tried, to continue watching This Week when amanpour took over.

I concede defeat.  She is awful, terrible, unwatchable.

She mangles, phrases, expresses her own opinions continually, needs notes, is over-bearing and is so ego driven.

Jake Tapper was far smarter, less intrusive, far more articulate and very pleasant.

Get rid of this woman.  She is a train wreck and doesn't even realize it.

OMG you must be my twin! (either that or there are a lot of people just like us who feel the same way about the current show...). I just came in here to post virtually the same thing you did, even down to the George "only  remaining voice of sanity and reason on this show anymore" Will comment. I was driving home tonight thinking, "you know? I've given it a couple of months and it's just.not.working... I cannot stomach a special on why Americans are anti-Islamic. I have a dear friend who is a devout Muslim and is as American as they come. I resent the fact that people with my more "moderate" or independent views are racists or Islam-haters according to most media outlets. Anyone want to bet what the content of Sunday morning's "special" will be full of???

Politically I've been on both ends of the spectrum throughout my adult life, and have, for the last several years found a nice place in "Independent-land", but the more Obama and Congress push an agenda on the American people that most of us don't want and don't agree with, the more conservative I become. I've even been tempted to vote straight ticket for the first time in my voting life this midterm election cycle (and it wouldn't be a ticket starting with a "D"), but even as disgusted as I am at just how "transparent" the current administration has been, I still choose to believe there are voices on both sides of the aisle that are worthy of being heard, and good people on both sides that would serve this country well.

Starting THIS WEEK, I will be returning to Tim Russert's (RIP) old stomping ground  because I just cannot take one more week of "giving Christiane a chance." She's a highly intelligent, talented, but incredibly biased "journalist" and while she may have not understood last week why the American people don't seem to comprehend how "amazing" the legislation Washington has passed in the last few years is, I have a pretty clear "understanding" of why the American people haven't bought it and it's NOT because they are too stupid to comprehend it, or the Dems have fallen short of "explaining" it to us.

Agree 100%! I started a Jake Tapper thread a few months ago in support of making him the permanent host. While I'm thinking about it, where the heck is Cokie Roberts?

I am glad I am not alone. ABC could not have picked a worse host. In fact, they seem to be steadily going down. George was the best, built the show and its format, and came cloase to challenging the late Tim Russert. Jake took over, did a good job and was continuing to get better every week. George was still my favorite - personable, creative and insightful.

I would have never guessed ABC would pick this arrogant, ill-informed reporter as their next host. I never thought highly of any of her prior work at CNN or other places. She continues to make everything about herself as she did at CNN. I dont think Christiane has any of the audience of this show and what they like. And, who on earth would do a townhall on a subject like that?

I concur with Deborah. The only reason I still even to bother to pay attention to this show is to listen to folks like George Will

This Week has been a regular part of my Sunday morning since David Brinkley hosted this wonderful show.  I was a skeptic when George took the position--and was very happy with his stewardship of a great program.  My favorite Sunday morning show is gone.  I thought that possibly the round table could hold it together--but not so.  Their input has been diminished--and really, the contributors don't even get to say much.  She frequently talks over them and steers their feedback to her point of view.  The most attractive feature of this program has always been the impartiality of the host (David, George,Jake) and their ability to present political issues in a balanced way.  It is the political season and the focus of the program is about Alzheimers?  I have watched as much as I can take and will begin to tune into Meet the Press or Face the Nation.  I can get my dose of stories about the "It gets better" campaign, Maria Shriver's project, and why we are phobic anti-islamists during the week.  Bummer...

I stopped watching Meet the Press when Tim Russert passed away and continued to watch This Week as I had for several years. I have now returned to watching Meet the Press with David Gregory and am quite enjoying it. As per my previous posts in here, I am utterly disgusted with the turn this show ("This Week") has taken since the new permanent host came on board. I haven't watched an episode of This Week since the town hall meeting held to highlight our supposed hatred for Islam was aired, and didn't even make it through the entire show. That show was the last straw for me.  I've also stated in previous posts that I have a dear friend that is Muslim and I don't need a lecture by Christianne and her guests as to how horrible I am for having a problem with Islamic Terrorists. Any intelligent human being can distinguish the difference between a Terrorist who is Muslim and a true Muslim-American and I didn't appreciate a town hall on the subject taking over the time slot that I once enjoyed watching when it was truly This Week. For those who might wonder why I even bother to post another entry in here when I'm not watching, my answer to them is that I'm just sad that the show I use to enjoy is now dead to me. Too bad. It was a great ride. Based on the minimal activity on this message board I'm guessing few people even care about this show anymore and have just chosen to make better use of an hour of their life than to watch it.

Yep.  The show is trash.  I long for the days of George and Jake.  Truly this has became the Cause based show driven by the host.  Today.  We praise the efforts of Turner, Gates and Buffett.  Have we forgotten that the Turner aol--time warner deal--cost thoursands of jobs and padded the pockets of a very few?  I am to be concerned when ted Turner's net worth went from 10 Billion to 2 Billion?  The Gates' want to drive more to college when college grads can not find jobs?  I volunteer in the class room at The Ohio State University and students-- in Economics-- are struggllng to get jobs--let alone at a wage levels that justifies the financial investment.  I read last week that the long time producer of this show is leaving sighting family needs.  But clearly he is no longer in charge.   Now next week still another special program on don' ask don' tell. As George Will would say "WHY"--it needs to be repealed.  Everyone knows that but the host has to have her say.  Saddens me that this program has headed this direction.  i will tune in only to see in memoriam--until this gets dumped.
