After 8 years of arrogant occupation by a small group of insiders, being subjected to constant talking points, scripted words and staged media appearances, drunk on power and empire and "America only" fake patriotism, stereotyping and other drugs and alcohol - addicted syndromes - it is taking much longer than 1 1/2 years to dry out.  It will take at least 4, if not 8 years to dry out and recover.

You will not see any realistic cooperation and consensus in the US until maybe 2012.

The Party of NO is weighted down with a huge hangover, and they don't even know yet to take one day at a time to even begin to sober up.

Anyone with a clue about the economy and business actually works knows it was not the Bush Tax Cuts or Bush policies in general that caused the economy to fail.  Ground Zero was the socialization of the mortgage industry thru the actions and policies of the psuedo-government, Democrat inspired and protected mortgage giants Fannie and Freddie.  The garbage loans created and underwritten by these fools became the cancer that spread throughout the world via financial instruments created on Wall Street.  The same Wall Streeter swho contributed the Democrat Party by a factor or 3 to 1 in the last election.

If you want pick on mistakes by the Bush administration it would be going into Iraq though that action actually did have bipartisan support...unlike the terribly constructed Obama "Stimulus" bill and the completely irrresponsible health care legislation.  Sadly, the Obama administration chose to ramp up the "good war" in Afghanistan and more Americans are dying overseas now then the past 9 years and to what avail.   At least Iraq resulted in something approaching success and Iraqi's are now enjoying more freedom and increasing prosperity.

Liberals will never admit it because doing so would mean the end of them, but smaller government and lower taxes actually do lead to a better economy...when unfettered by social engineering of the liberals.  The Bush cuts actually increased economic activity and government revenue.  That's a fact.  The deficits were due to increased spending.  A crime that the Republicans paid for as Independent turned on them in 2006 and 2008 and perhaps justly so.

Luckily, Americans are starting to pull their hands out of the sand and are seeing the Democrats for the job and industry killing Statists that they are.  The Independents who left the Republicans are returning now that they have seen the damage that unfettered power in the hands of the Democrats really means.

When Americans and American business regain their confidence the economy will turn around and not until then.  Sadly, its highly unlikely this will happen under the anti-business policies of the Obama Administration and the Democrat led Congress much less with the anti Capitialist rhetoric constantly spewing from the White House and the Democrat party.

The jobs recovery will begin in November when the Democrats are punished for their wretched job killing policies and nonexistent leadership.

Some things never change.  For the other things, change is possible, 1 day at a time....
