If it were Peggy Noonan that had been tortured I'm sure she'd abandon her "Reservations" and decide that "Walking" away from justice was not "Mysterious" and that "Much good" would indeed come from prosecuting her torturers.

I, for one, do not want those who are willing to torture another human being working for my government. Only a spineless coward would approve of such a thing and they should not be surprised if they find themselves lying on a "Waterboard" someday. If a government will torture "Enemy Combatants" it will torture it's own citizens too. It's not a big leap.

Well put.  Agreed!

Peggy is very deceptive, disguising things like you say in the guise of "thoughtfulness".  A very scripted, mincing person who is wily enough to get onto political talk shows as some kinda pundit or "expert". You and I and some of we see through her mask.

More will come out on torture under the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rove/Rice Administration.  I agree with President Obama that we should should not look back, instead to move and look forward.
