I wonder what exactly we have learned... if you look at the posts here you'll see common posts being made. Basically on what was done, what shouldve been done, and what to do from now on. Now some ppl on here were hit by most of the storms, others like me watched on the news, went down there to help out later and got the after effect rain and wind, some dont even live in the US but feel as though they can judge what we are going thru. So here are my feelings feel free to state yours.. but remember everyone is entitled to your own opinion... this may be harsh but I think it needs to be said- To the victims of the 50,000 hurricanes we got this yr: when a mandatory evacuation is issued.. please leave. I wouldnt know how it is to loose everything I own against my will but I figure a life is more important than anything... possesions can be replaced and I realize some things have been handed down thru generations but is the chest from your grandfather worth more than your families lives? So please evacuate. I pray you all are ok and know that there are ppl willing to do something when others dont. To the ppl who comment about how Americans are complaining and they dont even live in the US- SHUT UP! You dont know how it is.. Im not even down there and Im not saying anything. yes I agree they had warnings and couldve been prepared but you have 50,000 ppl preaparing all at once.. supplies are gonna run out. So dont comment about us if you dont know whats going on... ima love to see the comments y'all throw up here when ur hit with a natural disaster and see what we say.. so yeah keep it quiet.. you only see what you want to see not whats actually going on. And finally what have we learned- Dont take life for granted, when they say evacute.. get up and go. And unless we were one hit by the storm we really cant judge those who were.. now granted I do have thoughts of the ppl who decided to stay for Rita after Katrina but Im not gonna put that up here... So feel free to post what you think to the victims.. im sorry for all you had to go thru.. God Bless ~kmsadrk

It needs to be said that Good Input can come from anywhere. I don't care if a person is 6 years old or 106. Neither do I care if they are Republican, Democrat or other. It doesn't matter if they are black, white, green or spotted... nor does it matter if they are male, female or something in between. Most of all it doesn't matter if the person is American, Mexican, Australian, German or Martian. The bottom line is if someone actually says something useful, or something which can be turned into something useful.. then that is good input and it shouldn't be simply cast aside because they are a Bush Supporter, Kerry Supporter, Clinton Supporter or believe PeeWee Herman is the one best suited to lead our country. It is counter-productive to any situation to bash or act against what is trying to be done simply because you don't like a person, group of people or a nation. This idea of having to claim everything is a failure is also antiproductive. Since 9/11 it's been politically motivated that many of the things which were done were "Failures", but the simple meaning of a failure being "a lack of success" has been diminished to a more conspiratorial meaning of failing to succeed in protecting people because someone chose to not do something they knew to do on purpose. This is why I oppose the "Failure" word anymore, because a lot that was done in the past were things that couldn't be done because of the times or were simple cases of making a wrong decision. Everyone makes mistakes and/or makes a wrong choice, I know of no person who never made a mistake. So why do we insist on holding those in Government to a different standard than we hold for ourselves or the common person? I don't hold Nagin responsible because of his political affiliation, in fact prior to Katrina and with in the week that followed I didn't know his political affiliation.. and the truth is that I really still don't know. I surmise he is democrat or possible a third party because of how fast he tried to blame Bush.. but that doesn't mean he is. I hold Nagin responsible for the fact that ever since the 27th of August I've seen where he made one mistake after another, then he tried to make himself blameless by pointing fingers elsewhere. It's time for people to try to stop being guided by petty prejudices and work together for ourselves. If we haven't learned by now that Government is incapable of protecting us completely, then I guess we never will.
