In the last few days I have been told that FEMA is paying out unbelievable sums of money to truck drivers for lay-over pay. Don't you think that$4500 for weekend lay-over pay from FEMA is an astronomical figure. Anyone would be willing to sit and do nothing over the weekend for that kind of money.
I have also become aware of a new program called Teks....this program is paying for rental equipment to train truck drivers for disaster relief. The program has entered into a contract with 2 guys in my hometown to pay them to do the training. It doesn't make sense that the program would do this if there are numerous schools that are available throughout the country; and currently own their own equipment already. These 2 guys have worked at a driving school in years past, but not recently. They do not have a license to teach.........and now they are getting huge money to do this training without a license from the state of Texas.
I just don't get it!! What is going on with FEMA, and the money that has been allocated for disaster relief. The citizens of this country need that money to stretch as far as possible, and FEMA continues to spend it recklessly. Someone needs to do it that has a nose for digging deeper into the story.
