Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel With few needing it, truckloads of emergency ice and food pile up in S. Florida By John Coté Staff Writer Posted November 9 2005 If there is another hurricane this year, there are plenty of supplies -- about 375 trucks full of ice, water, packaged food and other provisions sit at the South Florida Fairgrounds. State officials still were trying to figure out Tuesday what to do with tons of surplus Hurricane Wilma supplies now that distribution centers are closed... There has to be somebody who really needs these relief supplies.

Abby, there are still hundreds of Mississippians without power or water living in tents where theie houses once stood. I'm sure they could still use whatever relief supplies that anybody has.

Why is it that everytime I look at this thread, the messages seem to get less and less. :)

My suggestion: Aren't there still people without power in Louisiana? There has to be somebody who really needs these relief supplies. +++++++ Yes there are but most of the stores like Wal Mart, KMART and Target are open so I guess they figure people can get the stuff they need there. There are still a couple of relief sites in my area but I havent been so I dont know what they are giving out. I would loooooveee to have a place that still gives out water and Ice. Wal Mart is so crowded so going there is a 3 hour adventure.Small conveinance stores run out of Ice by 9:00 am.
