As amazing as it may seem, dozens of animals are still being rescued every day by Best Friends Animal Society in the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. There are thousands of cats and dogs that still need to be rescued. The official intake center in Gonzales, Louisiana was closed in early October, but this wonderful organization from Utah is still working tirelessly to rescue every animal that needs to be rescued. If you go to their website at www.bestfriends.org you can sign a petition to help complete the rescue efforts.
I am asking all animal lovers to help raise awareness about the heroic and selfless work that Best Friends Animal Society is doing every day to save lives in the Gulf Coast.
