"Nothing will benefit human health, and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth, as much as the evolution to a Vegetarian Diet."- Albert Einstein The most important thing you can do for the planet is to stop eating meat. It takes approximately 25 TIMES more energy to produce a pound of beef than a pound of grain. Methane from cows is a HUGE contributor to greenhouse gases. Rainforests are being cut down for grazing land. Runoff from livestock pollutes water supplies. Changing your diet can have an even bigger impact than changing the car you drive! Read "Diet For a New America" by John Robbins. It will change your life.

If you eat vegetarian you live longer. I came from a place, the average longivity was 27 years when I was born.Because of improvement in Public Health now it is about 60 yrs. Most death occured due to infectious diseases. Yet there were many centenarians if they did not die of infections. Most of them were vegetarians.

okay it takes 25 times more energy o make the pound of beef but that beef packs a million times more protein then the pound of grain. Growing grain is actually environmentally worse. Cattle can be raised living at one with nature, they way nibble the grass too much if they are too dense, but basically the land is in its native state with grasses and flowers. Once you plow up all those native species and plant fields of grain there is never any going back to native. If you took cattle away from rural property for a year or two you would never be able to tell they were once there.
