Of all the organizations involved in the oil spill debacle, very little recognition has been awarded to the real heroes -- the robotic devices utilized to do the work of capping the well. I think it is only right that the designers, builders, programmers and operators of these unsung heroes be invited to the WH for recognition of our technical expertise.

They created a device to make money for oil companies.  I don't think those guys are heroes...not to say they are bad guys, but c'mon.  A hero IMO is someone who actually decides to do something that puts themselves in harms way with no benefit to themselves.  Im sure those engineers, designers and personnel benefited from this terrible disaster.

Sure,  just as if anyone could have done it. Just imagine the size of the gulf oil spill by now if they hadn't done it. The oil companies were not the only benefactors; the whole gulf coast residents were saved from a irreversible disaster.
