      Great news for some but I still get 67 year old cold hands and *** as most observatories don't have observing rooms that are air conditioned.

sounds more like you need a heater not a A/C... not many of them in observatories either ;-)

      That's air conditioned in the sense of constant temperature and humidity. Gad, once when I observed using the 84 inch at Kitt Peak it was 0 C and 1% humidity; it was 20 C and 45% in the 4 meter observing room.

      No, that was the Multi-Mirror-Telescope at Mt. Hopkins.
