The best way to get started helping to bring down global warming is with a series of small steps, that when repeated by our population in general, will produce big results.

An example:

Replacing conventional bulbs with CFB's. The fact that bulbs burn out gives ample apportunity to replace it with a greener alternative.

Another example:

When it's time to repaint your home check out the newer heat shielding paints that will help reduce the energy needed to heat/cool you home. I mean, you're going to paint anyway...right? The cost is minimal and won't affect the total cost of painting your house all that much.
