I grew up about an hour from New Oleans and have many fond memories of the area but at this point I wish another hurricane would hit and finish off the rest of the city.  I am sick of hearing about the poor people of New Orleans and how it is everyone else's fault that things went wrong and they have nothing.  Here's a suggestion, get some aid money, get a job and get out!   I have family in Gulfport, MS, Houma and New Iberia, LA, and Houston, TX and you don't hear residents of those areas complaining like the citizens of New Orleans because they actually quite waiting on the golden fleece and helped themselves.  And don't try the racism card, or blame any other difference in demographics, because across the board the make-up of those areas are very similar.

And to our government leaders, both parties included, are you really that dumb?  Why are you wasting tax dollars to rebuild an area that is a known flood area and geographically several feet under sea level?  At least use my tax dollars wisely to relocate and rebuild the destroyed residences in an area not prone to flooding.  My suggestion is to build new levies on the borders of where the flood waters stopped and turn the low lying area into farm land or a large city park so when it is flooded again, the recovery will be less without an unnecessary loss of life and property.
