There has been no airing of any information on the major networks about the JENA 6.  These young men who are from this area of Louisiana are not receiving fair and just due process.  More emphasis should be placed on this issue rather than on the "Nicole Ritchie's" or the "Lindsey Lohan's" of the world.  Will ABC take the lead in presenting this issue and bringing it to the forefront, before 6 men suffer a life of imprisonment?

I have just read an article about the Jena 6, about the 6 African American males that are on trial for crimes that, I believe, along with millions others, are unfair, and which the boys are being prosecuted wrongly for. As a college student who is very politically active and aware of what is going on in the world, it saddens me that ABC has not made a full coverage story on this incident (and if you have I apologize) but still believe this is a topic that cannot merely be presented in five minutes. This must be on-going. The injustices that are still happening in our country today are ridicules and are rather disgusting. My hope is that when ABC does a full coverage story on this and makes it the big deal that it is, as Michael Vick and Paris Hilton's crimes have been made, that other news stations will follow suite and these six young men will get the media coverage and support they deserve. Yes it is sad that throughout the United States' over 200 years of fighting for justice that today, in the year 2007 these incidents still happen. Yes, equality will probably never be universal in the eyes of many people in our nation, but I would think fairness in  our justice system would at least exist. Please give these young men a chance to get the media coverage and rights they are so being denied right now. This must end today!

Thank you so much,

Casey Bruce

Okay .. here are the facts.

Six nearly adult men in an act of cowardice and malice attacked a lone man for reasons unrelated to some tree. They had a history of provoking and beating others in the past.

After he was down and unconscious, they continued to kick and stomp him causing him injuries. Their intent was to cause him grevious harm. A stomping like that can kill, cripple for life, or cause other permanent damage. The lone man was lucky he didn't die during the stomping.

Defending the six is an act of racism. They are criminals and committed a heinous crime. They should prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Atttempting to bring some tree into it, some nooses into it, or whine about the color of the criminals skin is racism.
