Hello................................................I am 55yrs of age.I have absolutely no Health Insurance.I am disabled and receive SSDI,but $914 mo. doesn't go far with the other bills,and medications.Some drug manufacturers allow some free medications.Lots of paperwork,and there is one med that I've filled out forms for at leasst 3 times,and it's been over 1yr since I've gotten it. There should be someone in the government who can represent people like me.Too young for medicare.I'm supposed to have major surgery in by a neurosurgeon.My spine is messed up and the vertebrae are out of line,and very close to my spinal chord. Thisleaves me with a nonstop headache of all headaches!The smallest movement of my head makes it almost unbearable,and I'm pretty tough! I have lower back disc problems also.What can we do?I know there are more people out there like me.

My husband is 55 also, and has been disabled for 10 years plus.. he also is on SS DISABILITY, and there are two of us living on his income which is more than yours. He has medicare insurance, I have nothing..YOU should be able to get medicare if you are disabled... contact the social security for the information, also  your doctors may be able to get you the required medications as samples, but YOU have to speak up and ask for them, and yes we have also went through the  agency's  that supposedly will help you with your medicines, BUT with this new medicare part D, many of them will no longer help the  disadvantaged people who really need the help, I know first hand, been there , done that.

And far as MEDICAID...the government controls that, and decides if  and who can have it, at their decision  of how much money  we receive,  its NOT fair, when all the illegal aliens can get FREE medical, housing and food etc, and we who live in AMERICA and have worked all our lives and PAID taxes and  so forth, and we can't get help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S A FACT!  Let the government  try and live on what we recieve..THEY COULDN'T DO IT !!!!!!!!
