Education is essential to survival.

I wholeheartedly believe in the intelligent  forums of Oprah, Dr. Phil etc.

The young womans horific ordeal in tonights story, was presented effectively.

As shown in the end, the shock value, proved to be an excellent teacher, for law enforcemnt and surely many other venues.

All that being said I have to ask, why  the lack of imagination.

This type of abuse can be found in the underbelly of all classes and ethenticities of society.

But as always when American news needs an example of negativity , they present  a black person, even better a black family , even better from mixed parents. It is a tiring steroetype that intelligent americans do not care to watch.

It  is not the story that we tire of.

We tire, of how it is presented.

You know the power of television, look at the ad industry.

Use your power for Good, for the Empowerment of those watching, and for your own integrity.

You alienate the many honest and wholesome black people and families who may attempt to watch your stories, and perpetuate the negative stereotypes of black people in the minds of those unacquainted with them.

What have you really accomplished!

Leave the self help to daytime tv and  others who can provide answers, instead of SENSATIONALISM.
