http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/12338670.htm Hi, everyone. I came across this yesterday: a piece written by Kati Marton's brother. He talks about visiting with Peter in his final month (and how Peter was/looked/etc) in more detail than anyone else I've seen, even more than Kati herself. I don't know that it's altogether appropriate for him to do so given how little the immediate family has said so far but nevertheless, here it is. He had some wonderful things to say about Peter, and it made me smile.

Why are you calling Katie Marton an idiot?

Thanks for sharing the link. ..."Every so often in life," he said, "you come across someone you don't wish to let go. And you hope that they will let you love them -- and maybe love you back."...

Thank you SO very much for this most wonderful article! It gave me what I've been NEEDING..........a glimpse of how Peter was feeling the past few months before his death. I just needed to get a "feel" on how he was. This article by his former brother-in-law was awesome. I felt it was from the heart and I think he truly loved Peter as a person and as a journalist. You could certainly "feel" the respect in which it was written. I think it speaks volumes at how well their relationship was still intact. I also think it says a lot for Kati and Peter to have been able to share some last caring moments together. After all, he did choose this wife to have children with, so I imagine they were very much in love when they 'co-produced' their babies. I don't think we ought to be the ones to point fingers at any of them. I think they all, in the end, got it RIGHT! Thank you again for this most wonderful article. The author should be very proud of a job WELL DONE! Lee

Thank you so much for posting this website. I have always loved, respected and admired Peter Jennnings but it is only now that I am learning about him and my love and respect for him is certainly justified, not that I needed further proof, as his gentle eyes, smile and voice emanated a rare and genuine individual.

This article made me smile. It was flattering and I'm always happy to hear good things about any person that I'M greiving about. Of course, there have been some things that have been written that were not so flattering. But, for me, I'm totally unfazed. I just want Peter's memory to be kept alive. If there are a few tidbits out there that are a liitle untoward, so be it. Giants like Peter and Koppel can withstand a ding or a stain here and there. In fact, for someone like me who grieves from afar, anectodal evidence that Peter may have been flawed, only adds to his overall allure factor. A little amusing perhaps. But far from a deal breaker. Never.

PatsiBlue So eloquently put! The article was enlightening and did provide a window into those last months. As for the negative tidbits that some appear to enjoy sharing, to quote you, " Peter....can withstand a ding...here and there". Regards, julauded

Well, thanks Julauded. You were so kind to respond. And it is my pleasure to "light a candle" to Peter's memory. Particularly on a board such as this, which is so much more exalted than some other boards that I've been on. Of course, wouldn't you expect Peter's board to be classy and sentimental. Kudos to the monitors, of course. And to my fellow "Jennings" cabalist (sic).

I had trouble registering as well. Look for red-letter messages on the registration form before you submit it. The problem I kept having was my password. It has to be 6 - 12 characters and at least one character cannot be a letter. I kept doing it wrong because I didn't see that. Good luck; it's worth the trouble.
