For someone that did not finish High School, Peter Jennings made a major impact on my life as a teacher of current events and held my hand through words of support and direction during war's, concerns of my father being drafted again, presidents destroying the peoples trust and others gaining it.
I am deeply saddened that my own children only new him briefly.
WNT was the news we watched and became a tradition for my step-children after moving to Canada from the U.S.A.
It's funny, I did not realize that Mr. Jennings was Canadian until moving here.
He set the example for good news casting and reporting and set the pace for others to follow.
I will miss him and also be thankful he was in our living room each night while I grew up and my children grew.
His shoes are large and to big for someone else to step into to carry the torch. Anyone replacing his job will have to be humble enough to realize he can not replace the man, only learn from him and carry the example forward for others to continue learning.
I wish all the support and prayers I can provide to his wife and children. They were blessed to share his life and will be a example of his life for ever.
Regards,
PK
