Happened to see the segment on WikiLeaks. I can appreciate both sides of this debate. PBS awhile back had a very interesting production on WWII. People think of this as a clean war but they showed the PTSD and other issues that occurred which hardly every got mentioned. Then there is Vietnam on the other end of the spectrum.

I am always baffled as to why there is such ambivalence over Vietnam. I have actually spoken with Vietnamese folks in this country and they very unanimously appreciated American presence. Let us not forget the mess that occurred shortly after American withdrawal with Pol Pott and the Khmer Rouge. Folks from the area fully believe Pol Pott would have been circumvented if Americans continued their presence. So the constant negative press might also be a problem. Carter was in serious pickle with this since Americans were so glad to be out while the region was literally in hell.

I publicly maintain a system neutral stance in my public web pages. But Pol Pott was such a terrible perversion of Socialist ideals.

Overall, Wiki leaks in my opinion is not so great even though I can understand his argument. Light on those needing reform is a necessity.
