I just watched your show on the Primate Research Center in New Iberia, Louisiana. I am a New Orleans native, and never knew such a thing even existed in the state. I am disgusted to see what is going on in the name of research science, not to mention the fact that the government is funding the abuse without monitoring or regulating the environment of the facility. It hurt me to see what these animals go through day in and day out, and I can only hope that your report will have a resounding effect. For crying out loud, there are camera's in every DMV and Social Services building throughout the country, as well as on the street corners of most US cities. And yet, there nothing to prevent a disregard for the humane treatment of these unfortunate animals who have given us so much?

I am so thankful that ABC covered this story, and let the world know about the horrors that occur in these research centers. These poor, innocent animals. As a doctor I am well aware that there are alternatives to animal testing. They choose not to use them , and torture these poor monkeys instead. It outrages me that this actually occurs in our country. I am so disgusted by it. Our tax money is going toward this! This is also going on in places like Proctor and Gamble where they are using bunny's to test products like bleach and mascara on.I urge people to buy only cruelty free products (it says it on the back of the product) and help put an end to this animal abuse. Those monkeys belong free in the jungles where they are able to live there lives out without being tortured by sadistic humans. Thank you Thank you ABC for getting this out there. We need to educate people and let them know the truth about the torture of animals that is taking place in these labs. K. Bradshaw, M.D.
