mesdames, messieurs:

                it's one thing when H$U$ is able to dupe poor little old ladies out of their meager resources  by their usual misrepresentations, obfuscations, and outright lies; but when a news organization doesn't bother to do it's research before taking the word of extremist vegan groups like H$U$/PETA (the latter two joined at the hip. the latter makes noise and performs outrageous stunts including destruction of property and injury to humans and animals; and the former uses its unctuous public face to fraudulently extract huge amounts of money from america's animal-loving public.....about which, more later.) their self-admitted goal is the end of all human-animal bonds, the extinction all pets and other domesticated animals.

                H$U$ takes in millions of dollars from a well-meaning public. the money is used largely to legislate pets and farm animals out of existence. they own no animal shelters. they do no hands-on rescue or rehabilitative work. they shamelessly try to take credit for true rescue operations in which they took no part, and most certainly did not donate a penny (cf. the michael vicks disaster, and the katrina horror.) they are there for every photo-op, and it is not for nothing  that they have earned the sobriquet "publicity ####". 

                 nightline would do a far greater service by exposing  the fraud perpetrated daily on the pet-loving people of this country by H$U$, who not only lie openly about their activities, but who aligne themselves with PETA, whose kill rate of the animals they take in------under pretext of rehabilitating them and placing them------ is 97% . (the president of PETA has been quoted about euthanizing animals as one of the most pleasurable thing she does.).

                  as i write this, H$U$ is surreptitiously blitzing 34 u.s. states with legislation designed to make breeding and keeping of animals so expensive (fines and fees) and onerous (ludicrous specifications about  rules and compulsory regulations as to the "humane" housing of  animals ) that it will impossible to comply with. some of these are spay/neuter regulations so draconian (a partial quote "..........gone in one generation....") that there would be no need for any further manipulations to attain their goal. the other impossible  regs are back-up in case the big plan doesn't work.

                   H$U$ pushes these things thru via the back door, and with no public review in most cases, so that there will be no chance for an opposition to come together. they do it by convincing unknowing legislators that it will be be good for animals(if extinction is good for them); that the public will love them (for taking their pets away); that they can take it from H$U$ and their smooth PR people and lawyers, it's a win-win situation (for extremist vegans everywhere). ah, well----'twas ever thus with scoundrels.
