I watched the debate, and listened to what both sides had to say. Many of you think that Kirk and Ray did not do a sufficient job in supporting/proving God. I disagree. First, as born again Christians know, God will prove God. He needs no man to do it for him. The number one goal of an evangelist is to share God's word to those that may not know it. Simply to save a soul. It is their mission simply to plant the seed of God's message of love and salvation in as many people as possible. God will water that seed in His own way and in His own time. In some it will grow and blossom, and sadly in others it will not. Atheists are usually a very intellectual group. Where a Christian has faith, an atheist needs proof. Kirk and Ray reached millions of people in that debate, thereby planting millions of seeds, and they attempted to do it in a way that would appeal to an atheist, intellectually.  Many who hear this message will do the research for themselves and come to the same conclusion that Christians already have. We need a savior. We need God. He is there and waiting. The Bible tells us that God rejoices whenever a lost sheep is returned to his flock. I believe that because of the debate, many who are lost to God right now will find their way home. If one soul is saved, in God's eye it was successful. I truly believe that the Lord is rejoicing right now because of those that will come to him due to hearing the loving, truthful, and gentle words spoken by two men very devoted to their faith. Congrats Ray and Kirk! A job well done.
