The answer is obvious: Just ORDER them to not be traumatized.

Drugs never solve problems just make them more traumatic.

I don't think "Uncle" said anything about drugs.

What he probably meant is that the commanding officers should directly ORDER the troops to not experience trauma. That way, anybody who IS traumatized becomes guilty of insubordination and can be kicked out of the service.
