Could it be said that the war in Iraq has been done as best as we could have done?

Would it be right to say that we did the right thing when we went into Iraq?

Should it be said that we did what was expected of us?

Is it time for us to end our occupation within a reasonable timeframe?

I saw weapons of mass destruction in my dream last night. I know this news will exonerate the president for invading Iraq. lol

Bush can do no wrong. Any suggestion to the contrary constitutes THE HIGHEST TREASON.

I would say that "They did the right thing" when they invaded Iraq.

Oh, there's often room for improvement in war.  Yes, I believe that more troops should have been involved in the invasion and aftermath of Iraq but hindsight is 20/20.  As it stands now - the surge (ours and Iraqi) has made a significant difference in Iraq.  But I think the state of our military had a lot to do with our ability to respond to 9/11.  It was in a pretty sad state when Clinton left office & we've had to spend a lot of money rebuilding it.  Had our military been as strong as it was under Reagan then we wouldn't have had the issues that we had in Iraq.

Let's see if I can help you out just a bit from the gawdawful radio shows youv'e been listening to. Clinton "downsized" the military. By doing so he unkownly brought up it's standards. When Clinton left office the sign on Army recruting offices said "Welcome to the Army, we have the HIGEST standards in our ENTIRE history"

The Army that Wille Jeff passed of to Duyba is the one that went into Iraq and took care of business.

Today the sign on the Army recruting office reads "Welcome to the Arrmy, our standards are as LOW OR LOWER than 40 years ago in Vietnam, and give us them we will get them lower"

That's a fact Jack!

Hmmmmm, let me see if I can lend Lebs27 a hand.  I served in the Army all 8 years Clinton was president. I know that personnel strength was cut by half.  We went from 18 divisions in the army to 10.  The Air Force went from 36 fighter wings to 20.  The numbers of naval ships dropped by 44% and was short of needed personnel by 22,000.  We were unable to do normal, opeational training due to lack of fuel and ammunition (I was mechanized infantry).  At Ellsworth AFB, more than half of the B-1 bombers couldn't carry out missions due to the lack of critical parts.  More than half of the Army's rotary wing aircraft had been cannibalized to keep the remaining aircraft flying.

Clinton gutted the military & left us weak and ill-prepared to fight this global war on terror.  Bush has had to push hard to get the military built back up again so that we (I'm still in the military) wouldn't have to do so many rotations overseas.  Clinton was a shame in the White House and a shame as a commander in chief.

Bush has successfully proved that he is incompetent---the wrong man for the job. He was not elected, but awarded the presidency by the the Supreme Court.
