How sad and tragic that two well respected newsmen have been injured in yet another senseless act of violence. My prayers will include them. I wonder if you are somehow unaware of the pain your coverage of these two men is causing the families of soldiers deployed to the same region. I can?t help but wonder why you don?t mention the families of soldiers every time you tell us about the friendship, family life and characteristics of Mr. Woodruff and Mr. Vogt? Did you forget that our soldiers are friends to someone, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters? Did you forget that they too are true professionals? Did you forget that many of them did not choose to be in this war? Your failure to mention this in your broadcast causes deep pain. Did you forget that as you promise to ?keep us posted on this story? many of us can not be ?posted? on the daily activities of ours sons and daughters? We have long endured your lack of respect by not even mentioning the sacred names of those killed in action, now you cause further pain by devoting so much attention to only a few when so many have given so much. I am deeply disappointed. Patricia Morin Proud Blue Star mother of Sgt. Peter Gamelin, Massachusetts Army National Guard

During such a difficult time, and an emtotionally charged debate over the coverage these two men from ABC have received....you found a way to say what you did in such an eloquent way. You said what many of us who have loved one's serving in Iraq haven't been able to find the right words to say. Our loved one's are in a fight or flight situation day in and day out. While we sit here in our homes awaiting word from them that they are ok and still alive..... sometimes fighting to stay alive. Doing things that most of us will never see even in our worst nightmares. I watch the news in hopes that one day they will actually show something other than the "bad" in Iraq. I watch hoping that at least just once they will put our troops at the top of the hour news ~ and I'm still waiting and hoping for that day. However, until we Americans start demanding more from the media we will continue to be hurt and angerd by their lack of coverage of our loved one's. I wish your son well, and pray that he returns safely from Iraq. One doesn't have to agree or disagree with the war to know that Mother's of service members did an amzing job in being able to raise sons and daughters brave enough to defend the rights of millions of people they will never know..... Thank You for raising such a brave and courageous son. Proud sister of PFC Joseph, US ARMY

I just wanted to say Thank you for this posting. There are many times that I watch tv just hoping to catch a glimpse of my brother in Balad. I doubt this will happen, but it helps keep me going. Thanks again for saying what so many of us want to. Proud Sister of PFC Dustin McKee, 4th Infantry Division, Army

I have no clue how the families make it through each day? we have friends in Iran and Afghanistan, every time we get any word on them it is like a weight lifted off our chest and another prayer of thanks is said. I agree with you 100% ALL the men and women over they are just as special as the news men who were hurt. I am grateful they got out alive. Everyday the news tells more US solders are killed or wounded. Our fighting men and women have names; they are from somewhere, and have families who want to be by their side. All them seem to be is number, how sad is that? They only time you might hear a name is if they put it on the local news. They lost their life or were wounded for their country not just there home town? for their country! I cry for them?. and their Granny?s, Granddads, Grandbabies, Mommas, Daddy?s, Wives, Husbands, Brothers, Sister, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Best Friends?.. They are all hero?s and should and should be treated like one. How many years did it take the make the Vietnam Wall? I sure hope something is in place quicker for our fall solders! My thoughts and prays go out to you all that your loved ones are safe in your arms soon! Cecilia Robbins
