Why G.I. Joe has so many casulties in this War against Iraq? The number of soldiers killed in Iraq has been rising up and approaching 2000. Because there was a lot of ground wars. During the last Gulf War against Iraq in 1991, American soldiers casulties were lower because the goal of the US military at that time was to drive the Iraqi occupation soldiers out of Kuwait. There was nearly one month of air force bombing and navy's Tomakhawk cruise missile attack. That the US and allied ground troops move in, simply to push Iraqi army out of Kuwait. The ground war lasted for only one hundred hours and the US casulties were not heavy. This time, US military has to defeat Iraqi army city by city, and village by village. US ground troops were exposed to many sniper fires during the combats. There are also a lot of terrorist bombing in the US occupied Iraqi cities. As the war drags on, the casulties have been increasing. Finally, the war is nearly over. Unlike the Vietnam War during 1965-1975, American soldiers killed were nearly 58000. Will America be safer? I certainly hope so.

This time, US military has to defeat Iraqi army city by city, and village by village. What Iraqi army? The reasons so many soldiers are dying is because there is NO army that they are fighting. These are just random people who decided to become terrorists. They are not in uniform. They are amongst the people. Kinda hard to fight something you cant see. Not only that but the soldiers are more trained to fight an army using tactics. Its really hard to say this is a war only because we arent really sure what we are trying to win? Remember we were going to Iraq because they had weapons of mass destruction. Oh yeah thats right there was none. Then it was to free the people of Sadaam. Oh yeah we got, but we are still there. Now I guess we are freeing the people of Iraq from who? In the end there will still be terrorists. It is impossible to get rid of terrorism because it exsists everywhere in all forms. As long as there are people who are fanatics about there beliefs then there will always be a chance for terrorists. Finally, the war is nearly over Did I miss the memo because my husband is schedualed to go back to Iraq in July for a year. I know people who are schedualed to go next year June for a year, so unless I missed something this war is not nearly over its just that people have realized that it was POINTLESS! And now there is just less talk about it.

Taiwan ammunition - 300 million rounds of logistic supply for G. I.s Local newspapers in Taiwan said Taiwan military was providing the US military with 300 million rounds of ammunition, including 5.56, 7.62, and 12.7mm bullets for M16 and machine guns. The price for a M-16 rifle bullet is 25 cent. Taiwan army probably did not go to Iraq to support the US military action, although there rumors saying they went. Even Japanese went to Iraq, though it was only 200 soldiers, a small dispatch with trucks and few armour vehicles. Few dozen other countries including UK, some European countries and Australia also went. US military drafted at least 150 thousand rounds of M16 rifle bullets from Taiwan for war purpose.

what are you talking about? This makes absolutely no sense. FYI, there are about 500 to 600 Japanese SDF personnel in Iraq and more in Kuwait, plus a support group in the Persian Gulf.

The Army's US supplier couldn't produce enough bullets fast enough. They ordered from an Israeli company as well. If you think Vietnam was a trigger-happy war, think again. These boys are shooting at anything and everything.
