THe Russians learned a valuable lesson. For every $10 that the indigenous people spent sent a guy out shouting with a rifle, the Russian army would spent $1 million to go after him and track him down. This is a middle eastern game where they always win by destabilizing the other side. It lead to the outcome that the Russians went home defeated. This time they are using diplomacy, remaining fiscally responsible, building up large reserves, and entering into new arrangements especially with Iran. They are also going to become a big arms producer and seller. They are following our model from 30 years ago. The only difference is that they have large amounts of raw materials, lots of cash reserves, and they are viewed as an ally in the Middle east.

bin Laden used the same example concerning us. He would be interested in bankrupting us with us doing it to ourselves. Our answer lies in the Baker Plan, and the CFR approach.

I hope your kidding. They already spent 10 years trying to do just that in Afganstain. The bad news it they lost, not only did the loose they lost without the Russian Liberal MSM reporting only the bad stuff. They know better than to get sucked back into a no win situtation.

You are right! The Russians are working partnerships in the middle east.
