Charlie Gibson, reported on the a new drug called Arbitrone (sp?), for men who had no other chance of other chemotherapy, and other treatments that were not working, This news was of July 2008.

I did my reseach for hubby, since I'm the one on the computer a lot. I found a phone number, and I called the hosptial in England, left a message, and they called me back the next day.

I was surprised to learn that this drug is NOT approved in the USA, as of yet.

That there were over 300 trials going on; in different states. That you could be picked if the criteria was met. Some were given sugar pills, and others, well "guinea pigs", for other medicines. To see if these medicines would have reactions, and what would they be to the patients taking them

Aribitrone, can only be found in England, You have to be a resident for one year, in England, and could enter into one of their clinics, for other measures.

No other follow up were reported on the World News. We saw the article in the paper, about the man in England, that took the drug, and was given " a new lease on life".

Sorry, to say, my husband passed away, March 19, 2009. His chemotherapy did NOT lower his PSA. It was over 117, and there was no other hope. We were going to Sloan-Kettering in NYC , for a second opinion. Ed, has a massive stroke at home, and later passed away, at our local Hospice.

Thank you for listening,

Mrs. Mary R. Compton
